Dr. Charles H. Durr, DC
Dr. Durr grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a town with excellent community sports programs. Participating nearly year round in many sports was the norm, as was the many injuries associated with participation. One injury in particular resulted in Dr. Durr’s first introduction to chiropractic. A dislocated shoulder and severe neck sprain was expertly treated by Dr. Durr’s first chiropractic mentor, Dr. Robert Menokian. Dr. Menokian was the president of the American Chiropractic Associations Sports Council. His expertise in chiropractic not only helped Dr. Durr to heal from this serious injury but also enabled him participate in his sports at a high level of performance for Widener University’s soccer team. He attributes his academic All-American honors to Dr. Menokian. Dr. Durr’s deep respect for chiropractic continued while pursuing a career in the restaurant business. After experiencing the long hours in restaurants Dr. Durr decided that it was time for a career change and enrollment in chiropractic school.
After graduating from Life University, Dr Durr took a position as an associate doctor with a chiropractic office in Philadelphia. This particular chiropractic office was affiliated with a fitness center. This gave Dr. Durr the opportunity to work with patients who suffered from various sports injuries.
While in college Dr. Durr became involved with a chiropractic technique called Chiropractic Biophysics. This is an advanced spinal corrective technique in chiropractic that not only offers patients pain relief but also builds postural and spinal correction. It was during college that Dr. Durr and fellow classmate Dr. Joseph Childs had the opportunity to take post-graduate courses taught by the technique’s founder Dr. Don Harrison.
In Sept 1999 Dr. Durr and Dr Childs opened Corrective Chiropractic together, an office focusing on postural and spinal correction using Chiropractic Biophysics as the primary technique. Since then Corrective Chiropractic has grown into a large chiropractic office serving many families in Chester County. Practice members are from all walks of life, ranging from pediatric to geriatric and athletic patients. Dr. Durr’s life purpose and the mission of the entire Corrective Chiropractic team is to educate and adjust as many families as possible toward extraordinary health using natural chiropractic care. To fulfill this purpose Dr. Durr has given many healthy living workshops at many companies in Chester County including – Vanguard, Siemens, Chester County Adult Care, QVC, to name a few. Dr. Durr is always working to improve the quality of service and care provided at Corrective Chiropractic with a continued focus on post-graduate education that brings the latest advances in chiropractic to his patients. One such advance is bringing Spinal Decompression Therapy to Corrective Chiropractic. This is an advanced technique that has brought incredible results in pain relief to patients with severe low back pain from degenerative discs and herniated or bulging discs.
Dr. Durr lives in Downingtown, close to Marsh Creek. He can often be found during his free time with his father pursing a hobby they are both passionate about, fishing. Fortunately for his patients and staff he still enjoys cooking, which he does on a regular basis and is always willing to share. During the winter months at Corrective Chiropractic Dr. Durr’s soup nights and always looked forward to by both the patients and the staff.
