Growing up in Bucks County Pennsylvania, Dr. Childs developed his love for health and fitness at an early age. Playing high school football at Central Bucks West and working out with weights for bodybuilding, he developed a passion for the study of anatomy and physiology, as well as, optimal health and performance. Dr. Child’s first encounter with chiropractic was in high school when he injured his lower back working out for football. He was so impressed with the results from chiropractic care that he decided he would one day become a chiropractor. After high school Dr. Childs started school at Penn State University. Before graduating from Penn State with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Sport Science, he completed a necessary internship at a chiropractic office in his hometown. His studies in exercise and sports medicine at Penn State were a perfect fit for the physical therapy, exercise and rehabilitative care offered at this office. This internship was a perfect opportunity to blend his studies in Exercise Physiology and Sports Training at Penn State with his upcoming education in chiropractic school. After graduating from Penn State, Dr. Childs attended Chiropractic College at Life University in Atlanta Georgia. During chiropractic school Dr. Childs, along with the required curriculum, completed over 500 hours of post-graduate education. These courses included all the required modules of Chiropractic Biophysics for certification in this technique. Other post graduate education courses taken were Sacro Occipital Technique, Cox Flexion Distraction, Extremity Manipulation, Pediatric Chiropractic, Gonstead, Therapeutic Exercise and Trigger Point Therapy.
After graduating from Life University Magna Cum Laude, Dr. Childs began practicing as an associate doctor at a chiropractic office with a primary focus in pediatrics. Working at an office that cared for over 40% children allowed Dr. Childs to become highly experienced in caring for the pediatric spine. During this time Dr. Childs advanced his education by taking post-graduate chiropractic studies in pediatrics from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association Certification Program.
Dr. Childs then took a second position as an associate doctor with a chiropractic office in Philadelphia. This opportunity was quite different than his first associate position in that this office was located in a fitness center. This allowed Dr. Childs to practice his skills in sports injuries.

After graduation Dr. Childs kept close ties with a fellow chiropractor and college classmate, Dr. Charles Durr. Both Dr. Childs and Dr. Durr were involved in the Chiropractic Biophysics technique in college and had the opportunity to take post-graduate courses taught by the technique’s founder Dr. Don Harrison. Chiropractic biophysics is an advanced spinal corrective technique in chiropractic that not only offers patients pain relief but also builds postural and spinal correction.
In Sept 1999 Dr. Childs and Dr Durr opened Corrective Chiropractic together, an office focusing on postural and spinal correction using Chiropractic Biophysics as the primary technique. Since then Corrective Chiropractic has grown into a large chiropractic office serving many families in Chester County. Practice members are from all walks of life, ranging from pediatric to geriatric and athletic patients. Dr. Childs’s life purpose and the mission of the entire Corrective Chiropractic team is to educate and adjust as many families as possible toward extraordinary health using natural chiropractic care. To fulfill this purpose Dr. Childs has given many healthy living workshops at many companies in Chester County including – Vanguard, Siemans, Chester County Adult Care, QVC, to name a few. Dr. Childs is always working to improve the quality of service and care provided at Corrective Chiropractic with a continued focus on post-graduate education that brings the latest advances in chiropractic to his patients. One such advance is bringing Spinal Decompression Therapy to Corrective Chiropractic. This is an advanced technique that has brought incredible results in pain relief to patients with severe low back pain from degenerative discs and herniated or bulging discs.

Dr. Childs lives in Downingtown, less than 5 minutes from Corrective Chiropractic with his wife Nichole, their 2 sons Parker and Reece and family dog Ranger. Having a house so close to the office and being so closely involved with the community has always been a dream of Dr. Childs.
